Note - Due to today's rains, the event will be at the City of Raleigh Museum.

Raleigh is the place to be for entertainment, arts, culture and technology, especially during the month of September. The month is bursting with so many events that September has a moniker - Raleigh M.A.I.N. Events (Music, Art, Innovation, and Noise).

Chanda Branch, chair of the Raleigh Arts Commission, will announce the month-long festivities that are part of 2018 Raleigh M.A.I.N. Events at a noon news conference on Friday, Aug. 3, in the City of Raleigh Museum, 220 Fayetteville St., Ste. 100.

Representatives of the 19 annual festivals and events scheduled to occur in September will be on hand to talk about their events, including four new events which are participating in this year’s promotions: City of Oaks Pirate Fest, Groove in the Garden, N.C. Pride at Night, and the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra Fall Pops Concert.

Photography and video may be taken of sample live performances from artists representing the 2018 African American Cultural Festival of Raleigh and Wake County, City of Oaks Pirate Fest, and SPARKcon, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
