National Night Out Set For Aug. 7

On Tuesday, Aug. 7, the Raleigh Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies, community groups, businesses, and local officials in more than 15,000 communities across the country will join forces to celebrate the annual National Night Out. The celebration is designed to:
Heighten crime, drug, and violence prevention awareness;
Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Celebrations are scheduled throughout Raleigh at the following locations:
