Traffic Alert: Water and Sewer Line Replacement Project Closes Portion of Holden Street

On Tuesday, September 26 the City of Raleigh began closure of the 500-600 blocks of Holden Street, between Watauga Street and North Bloodworth Street, to replace existing water and sewer lines. The work is expected to be completed within 7 weeks. The water and sewer line replacement project is one of the city’s Capital Improvement Projects.

Holden Street within this construction area will be accessible to local residents only and on street parking will be prohibited. The intersection crossings of Watauga Street and Elm Street will be open to through traffic. Other motorists should avoid this area if possible or follow the posted detour signage.

Customers in this area should not experience any interruption of water and sewer services. If service interruptions are necessary, residents will be notified in advance.
