Traffic Alert Update: Emergency Water Line Repair Closes 400 Block of East Jones Street

The City of Raleigh has closed the 400 block of E. Jones Street, between N. Bloodworth Street and N. East Street, in addition to the intersection of E. Jones Street and N. East Street for an emergency water line repair. Work is underway and is expected to be complete by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

The following is a detour around the work area:

  • Motorists traveling eastbound on E. Jones Street will turn left onto N. Bloodworth Street, right onto Oakwood Avenue, right onto N. Elm Street, and left back unto E. Jones Street

  • Motorists traveling westbound on E. Jones Street will turn right onto N. Elm Street, left onto Oakwood Avenue, and right onto N. Bloodworth Street

Motorists approaching this work area should expect traffic delays and are advised to avoid this area if possible. Detour signs and been installed to direct motorists around the work site.
