Traffic Alert Update: 6200 Block of Litchford Road

Update 5/16/18, 7:48 a.m.:

The City of Raleigh has shifted the northbound traffic lane within the 6200 block of Litchford Road, between Old Wake Forest Road and Johnsdale Road, to repair two sink holes. The repair and repaving have been completed but additional time is required for asphalt to cool and set. Lane shift will remain in place until Wed., May 16 at 6 p.m.

Motorists approaching this work area should expect traffic delays and are advised to avoid this area if possible.

Original post 5/14/18, 9:25 p.m.:

City of Raleigh has shifted the northbound traffic lane within the 6200 block of Litchford Road, between Old Wake Forest Road and Johnsdale Road, to repair two sink holes. No injuries or damage were been caused by the formation of the sink holes. The preliminary cause is due to a potential water valve leak. Work is underway and is expected to be complete by 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15. Completion time may be extended due to unforeseen conditions.

North- and southbound lanes of Litchford Road are open for travel, but motorists approaching this work area should expect traffic delays and are advised to avoid this area if possible.

Customers in this area should not experience any interruption of services.
