Traffic Alert: Southbound 500 Block of Oberlin Road to Close for Water Line Installation

Beginning Monday, April 9, the City of Raleigh will close the northbound lane of traffic in the 200 and 300 blocks of Oberlin Road to install a new water line. This project is part of the Public Utilities Asset Management Program for Critical Waterlines within the City’s Capital Improvement Projects.

Weather permitting, the work will begin at 9 a.m., and is expected to last for two weeks. During this time motorists should expect travel delays and should avoid the area if possible.

The following is a detour around the worksite:

  • Motorists desiring to travel northbound on Oberlin Road from west bound Hillsborough should turn right on Woodburn Road, left on Clark Avenue, right on Oberlin Road.

  • Motorists desiring to travel northbound on Oberlin Road from east bound Hillsborough should turn left onto Enterprise St., right onto Clark Avenue, left on Oberlin Road.

Customers in this area should not experience any interruption of water and sewer services. If service interruptions are necessary, residents will be notified in advance.
