Mayor Joins PNC President Jim Hansen in Kicking Off Festival

Mayor Nancy McFarlane and PNC Regional President Jim Hansen will be at City Plaza in downtown Raleigh today to kick off the PNC Presents Wide Open Bluegrass Festival. The Mayor and Mr. Hansen will speak beginning at 11:55 a.m. and countdown the final moments leading up to the start of Wide Open Bluegrass Festival at noon.

The festival kicks off today at noon and runs through Saturday, September 30. The free street festival portion of Wide Open Bluegrass includes a broad mix of local, national and international bluegrass talent performing on five stages in downtown Raleigh. It also includes a dance tent, BBQ championship, art, food, and shopping. The ticketed performances on the Main Stage at Red Hat Amphitheater kick off today at noon with performances by Molly Tuttle and the Kruger Brothers with Kontras Quartet, and wraps up on Saturday night with the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Steve Martin.
