Key Messages regarding Winter Weather:

Now is the time to prepare. For those who have to travel this weekend, you might want to make sure that you have these extra items in your vehicle. Remember, it is always better to have it and never have to use it than need it and not have it. According to AccuWeather, blankets, a windshield scraper and a shovel are necessary items to keep in your car when hazardous winter road conditions appear.

By Saturday night, you should plan to be where you are going to stay for the duration of the storm.

ReadyNC is also another great resource to use in planning for various emergencies. Please review their information on Winter Storms and Extreme Cold. This page will give you information on what to do before the storm, during, after and additional information.

Detailed information about storm’s timing and impacts can be found at the NWS website.
