ABOUT POP-UP STUDIOS

What would you make if an arts center moved into your neighborhood for two months? Pop-Up Studios transform your community center into a mobile art studio where you can take free one day art classes. Whether you have just an hour to commit to trying something new or you want to spend as much time as you can being creative with your neighbors and our teaching artists, the Pop-up Studios are for you! We provide the teaching artists and supplies, and you find the timeslot and topic that work for your interests and your schedule.

Pop-Up Studios travel from one community center to the next, so keep your eye out for when they Pop-Up in your neighborhood. Pop-Up Studios are for everybody and anybody!

Come meet other members of your community while learning new art techniques and being creative. Register for a free class and live your Creative Life!

Pop-up Studio programs are offered free of charge, but pre-registration is encouraged as we have limited seating and materials in each class. Register online using Reclink.

Final Pop-up Studio Location of 2019: Roberts Park Community Center's Playground | On the Playground at Roberts Park, we will offer Pop-up Arts Programming for Kids and Families only -- May 19-June 15

Kids Class Schedule

Join us on the Playground at Roberts Park Community Center for Pop-up Studios on the Playground -- a free, fun drop-in arts program geared toward elementary school-aged kids (Friday mornings are for preschoolers).

Our teaching artists will bring all the supplies you need to complete a project or experiment with art materials on the playground. Pre-registration is not required; all are welcomed to join as long as supplies allow. Every child is different, but we expect most children will complete projects in 15 - 30 minutes. Parents should plan to stay onsite during the program and are welcomed to participate or watch. In the event of thunderstorms/inclement weather, Pop-up Studios will be cancelled.

Sundays 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. - Ages 5-12

  • May 19 - Playdoh Volcanoes
  • May 26 - Paint Balloon Drop
  • June 2 - Pinch Pots
  • June 9 - Pinch Pots

Mondays 4 to 6 p.m. - Ages 5-12

  • May 20 - Recycled Jewelry
  • May 27 - Marbling with Shaving Cream
  • June 3 - Marbling with Shaving Cream
  • June 10 - Recycled Jewelry

Tuesdays 4 to 6 p.m. - Ages 5-12

  • May 21 - Playdoh Volcanoes
  • May 28 - Recycled Jewelry
  • June 4 - Drawing
  • June 11 - Playdoh Volcanoes

Thursdays 4 to 6 p.m. - Ages 5-12

  • May 23 - Recycled Jewelry
  • May 30 - Paint Balloon Drop
  • June 6 - Playdoh Volcanoes
  • June 13 - Pinch Pots

Fridays 10 to 11:30 a.m. - Ages 3-6

  • May 24 - Playdoh Volcanoes
  • May 31 - Playdoh Food
  • June 7 - Watercolors
  • June 14 - Playdoh Food

Saturdays 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. - Ages 5-12

  • May 25 - Marbling with Shaving Cream
  • June 1 - Playdoh Volcanoes
  • June 8 - Marbling with Shaving Cream
  • June 15 - Paint Balloon Drop

Pre-registration is not required. These programs are free and all supplies are provided.
