Durant Nature Preserve Lake
Repairs have begun on Durant's lower lake dam. The lower lake has been drained so repairs can be made. The project is expected to be completed mid-February 2019.
As a result, the service road across the dam is closed to the public and visitors will not be able to complete the lower lake trail loop that connects the north and south sides of the Preserve. The north and south sides of the Preserve can be accessed via portions of the lower lakeside trail, white house road trail and/or the border trail. Both parking lots will be open during construction.
For more information, see the Durant Nature Park Lower Dam Repairs project page.
Lake Johnson Park
Lake Johnson water levels will be lowered during a portion of the Lake Dam Road Bridge Replacement project until the end of February. Water levels will go back to normal afterward as rainfall allows.
During the project, Lake Johnson Park will remain open, however, personal boat launch will be closed. Fishing will still be permitted from the boardwalk.
