Capture Rainwater With These Stormwater Options
Completing a stormwater quality project, like installing a rain garden, on your property has many benefits. These projects help reduce pollution to streams and lakes by capturing and cleaning stormwater runoff before it goes into storm drains and local waterways. Some of the projects can even be used for landscaping and are an affordable investment in the environment and your home or business.
To help individuals install stormwater quality projects on their property, the Stormwater Management Division offers funding assistance through its Raleigh Rainwater Rewards (Formerly Stormwater Quality Cost Share) program. Property owners can receive up to 90 percent reimbursement on projects that include, but are not limited to, rain gardens, permeable pavement, cisterns, disconnecting downspouts, green roofs, pavement removal, stormwater wetlands, and tree wells.
