Water Exercise Classes

Don't wait until spring......take the plunge NOW by joining any water exercise class at any of our year-round pools to get a total physical workout. The City of Raleigh Aquatics Program has four year-round pools that offer a variety of water exercise classes. Classes are offered at:

  • Optimist Aquatic Center, 5902 Whittier Drive;
  • Buffaloe Road Aquatic, 5908 Buffaloe Road;
  • Millbrook Aquatic Center, 1905 Spring Forest Road; and,
  • Pullen Aquatic Center, 410 Ashe Avenue.

Programs vary by location so please check the aquatics brochure for the latest information. Water Exercise classes include things such as:

Pool Pilates, a basic level class that in non-impact and improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core and improving coordination and balance.

Hydro-Pilates, a low impact class with a variety of continuous exercises to gain muscular strength, coordination, and cardiovascular endurance.

Joint-T, designed for people with arthritis or other conditions that would benefit from a range-of-motion exercise.

Current Channel Challenge, Combination use of current channel, water resistance, shallow water area and exercise equipment. Offered only at Buffaloe Road Aquatic Center.

A water exercise pass allows you to attend any eight water exercise classes at any pool location. Pre-registration for classes is not required.

Cost for the water exercise pass:
Resident, Adult $40
Non-resident, Adult $52
Resident, Senior $32
Non-resident, Senior $44

Cost for the drop-in per class:
Resident, Adult $8
Non-resident, Adult $9
Resident, Senior $6
Non-resident, Senior $7
