Wild Walkers
Saturday, September 15. 7-8 PM.
Join us for a guided twilight walk at Horseshoe Farm, and enjoy the opportunity to stay in the meadow later than usual for a full sunset experience. Along the way, our staff will point out interesting natural features of the preserve. Bring a picnic blanket and some snacks to enjoy a leisurely late afternoon before the program. Children must be accompanied by adults. Children and adults must register.

Sustainable Science – Countertop Compost
Sunday, September 16. 3-4 PM.
Dive into the world of decomposition in this workshop all about compost, rot, and nutrient cycling. Learn how decomposition works in nature and how humans can harness the same processes to turn food waste into rich, fertile compost. We'll construct and fill counter-top compost bottles that you can take home to observe the steady magic of composting at work. Preregistration is required. Youth must be accompanied by adults. Youth and adults must register and pay the program fee.

Meadow Wee Walkers – A TACO Week Event
Thursday, September 27. 10-11 AM.
Join us for a special Wee Walkers at Horseshoe Farm Nature Preserve. This is a great opportunity for adults and little ones to meet each other and explore what's happening in nature as we take an easy-paced hike around the preserve. Advance registration is not required but is helpful for planning purposes. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Nature Art – Wild Sculpture – A TACO Week Event
Saturday, September 29. 3-4:30 PM.
Learn about the natural world art of Andy Goldsworthy and work with new friends to sculpt an Andy-inspired art installation at the Preserve farmhouse. Discover wild works of art based on the colors, lines, and potential of natural materials. You'll never look at leaves and pebbles the same way again! Preregistration is required. Children must be accompanied by adults. Children and adults must register.

Nature Scavenger Hunt – A TACO Week Event

Explore the Preserve and enjoy time outside together on this Scavenger Hunt. You and your family will enjoy quality time as you search for clues and hidden surprises and learn a little more about the nature of our backyard. Can you find all the clues to solve the puzzle at the end? Children must be accompanied by adults. Children and adults must register.
