Upcoming Knitting Workshops at Lake Lynn

Before the weather gets cold, join us at Lake Lynn Community Center for our Knitting Workshops! Workshops will feature a specific craft and patterns will be provided. Some additional yarn and needles will be available but students are required to bring their own supplies. Students should have some previous knitting experience. All workshops are two days in length.

Preregistration is required. You can register for the knitting workshops online using RecLink or in person at any community center. Courses can be found easily in RecLink by searching the unique course "registration barcode" listed below.

Fingerless Gloves
Oct. 20, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Oct. 21, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The instructor has chosen a free pattern for fingerless gloves appropriate for most level knitters (or feel free to pick your own pattern). Pick out your yarn (DK weight) and appropriate needles for your project. The pattern suggests size 5 needles. You will need approximately 210 yards of DK weight yarn for the gloves. Instruction on the techniques used in the gloves and help to finish the project will be provided by the instructor.

Hat or Headband
Nov. 3, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Nov. 4, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The instructor has chosen a free pattern for a hat & headband appropriate for most level knitters (or feel free to pick your own pattern). Pick out the yarn for your hat (worsted weight) and appropriate needles for your project. The pattern suggests size 10 needles. You will need approximately 220 yards of worsted weight yarn for the hat or 110 yards of two different colors. The headband suggests less than one skein of bulky yarn and size 11 needles. Instruction on the techniques used in the hat and headband and help to finish the project will be provided by the instructor.

Angel Ornament
Dec. 1, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Dec. 2, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The instructor has chosen a free pattern for an angel ornament appropriate for most level knitters (or feel free to pick your own pattern). This project involves knitting in the round. Pick out three colors of worsted weight yarn, one for the angel body, one for the head and one for the wings and size 5 double pointed needles. Instruction on the techniques used in the angel and help to finish the project will be provided by the instructor.

Wreath
Dec. 15, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Dec. 16, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The instructor has chosen a free pattern for a wreath appropriate for most level knitters (or feel free to pick your own pattern Pick out your yarn (worsted weight) and appropriate needles for your project. The pattern suggests size 7 needles. You will need approximately 280 yards of worsted weight yarn for the wreath. You will also need a foam wreath form 12 inches in diameter. Instruction on the techniques used in the wreath and help to finish the project will be provided by the instructor.
