Visit Method Road Community Center

News posted Oct. 05, 2017 - 10:42 am

Method Park is home to one of the most unique historical collections in the Raleigh area. Considered as one of the first rural high schools for African Americans, the Berry O’Kelly School was established in 1910 and provided industrial education to create new laborers, carpenters and other opportunities within the rural community. In the Pioneer building, there are shelves of artifacts, pictures and a large timeline on display. History tours are available by contacting the Harveleigh White Community Center at Method Park.

The park itself has six outdoor and three indoor pickleball courts, as well as an indoor and outdoor basketball court that are available first come, first serve.

The park has an open multipurpose field and youth baseball field. All field rentals are handled through our Athletics Division that can be contacted at 919-996-6836.

For those who like to work out, Method Park offers a $12.00 per month fitness center with no binding contract, only on a month to month basis.

Anyone between the ages of two and twelve is welcome on our large playground. The ground is made of a recycled bonded rubber and features slides, swings and amenities for younger children.
