Moore Square Construction Update

News posted Oct. 02, 2017 - 3:26 pm

The City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is excited to announce the start of the Moore Square renovation project. Moore Square was one of five public squares designated in the 1792 plan of Raleigh, and has been central to Raleigh’s history for the 225 years since! The renovation will honor Moore Square’s historic heritage, while also establishing a 21st century urban space. Moving forward, Moore Square will distinguish Raleigh as a city with premier public spaces and act as a catalyst for downtown growth and economic development.

Construction will begin in November 2017 and will last approximately 14 months, with an anticipated reopening in early 2019. Further information, including the design for Moore Square and construction updates, can be found on the City of Raleigh website: www.raleighnc.gov, keyword search: Moore Square.
