Current Activity

Updated Thursday, Nov. 7

On Nov. 6, Raleigh City Council awarded the construction contract for the project. Harrod and Associates Constructors, Inc. will be doing the renovations in the plaza.

Construction will start in a few weeks. We need to execute the construction contract. Harrod and Associates also needs to put together a schedule and order materials. Work will last under a year (This may change due to weather and other construction factors).

We’re doing construction in phases. Visitors will still have access to buildings in the plaza. There may be temporary lane or road closures on Fayetteville St. between E. Davie St. and E. Lenoir St.

All plaza events going on during construction have been adjusted. View the event calendar for more information.
