Temporary Street Closings

The following street closings due to schedule road races, parades, construction or other events. These activities will affect certain traffic patterns across Raleigh over the next several months.

First National Bank Construction - 500 block of Wilmington Street

Wilmington Street will be limited between Lenoir and Cabarrus streets during the construction of the First National Bank. 

During the week from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., there will be two lanes open. After peak morning traffic, only one lane will be open. 

The lane closures will be in place until the building is complete in March of 2020.

August

August 19 E. Hargett Street will be closed between Fayetteville Street and S. Wilmington Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

August 20 Pullen Road will be closed between Hillsborough Street and Cates Avenue from 11:40 p.m. until 12:30 a.m.

August 25 Chamberlain Street will be closed between Hillsborough Street and College Crest Avenue from 8 a.m. until 4 a.m. on Aug. 26.

August 25 Hillsborough Street will be closed between Pullen Road and Enterprise Street from 3 a.m. on Aug. 25 until 4 a.m. on Aug. 26. Additionally, the following roads will be closed from 6 a.m. on Aug. 25 until 4 a.m. on Aug. 26:

  • Hillsborough Street from Enterprise Street to Dan Allen Drive;
  • Brooks Avenue from Hillsborough Street to Vanderbilt Avenue;
  • Gardner Street from Hillsborough Street to Vanderbilt Avenue;
  • Pogue Street from Hillsborough Street to Vanderbilt Avenue;
  • Horne Street from Hillsborough Street to Vanderbilt Avenue;
  • Logan Court between Hillsborough Street and Hope Street;
  • Enterprise Street from Hillsborough Street to Hope Street; and,
  • Maiden Lane between Hillsborough Street and the dead-end.

September

September 2 Wolfe Street will be closed between Blake Street and Parham Street from 1 p.m. until 11 p.m.

September 7 - East Hargett Street will be closed between Fayetteville Street and South Wilmington Street from 6 p.m. until midnight.

September 15 Jones Street and Edenton Street will be closed from N. Wilmington Street and N. Salisbury Street from 6 p.m. on Sept. 14 until 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 15.

September 21 South Saunders Street will be closed between Hammel Drive and Grissom Street from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.

September 22 South Saunders Street will be closed between Hammel Drive and Grissom Street from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.

September 23 South Saunders Street will be closed between Hammel Drive and Grissom Street from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.

October

October 5 - East Hargett Street will be closed between Fayetteville Street and South Wilmington Street from 6 p.m. until midnight.

October 21 E. Hargett Street will be closed between Fayetteville Street and S. Wilmington Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

October 27 - Dawkins Drive will be closed from 4 p.m. until midnight.

November

November 2 - East Hargett Street will be closed between Fayetteville Street and South Wilmington Street from 6 p.m. until midnight.

December

December 7 - East Hargett Street will be closed between Fayetteville Street and South Wilmington Street from 6 p.m. until midnight.
