Public Meeting

The City of Raleigh and our engineering design consultant, Wetherill Engineering, have completed the 25 percent preliminary design for the project and a meeting to show the details of the preliminary design and to receive comments from the community was held on Thursday, March 8.

For those interested in the project but unable to attend the meeting the public meeting presentation, project map, meeting handout, and comment form are linked below. For comments to be considered in the project design, the City requests that all comments are provided by March 23.

The proposed improvements consist of widening Old Wake Forest Road and Dixie Forest Road between Capital Boulevard and Spring Forest Road. (US1). Roadway improvements will include:

  • Curb and gutter
  • Sidewalks on both sides of the roadway
  • Bicycle lanes
  • Streetlights
  • Landscaping
  • New railroad bridge
