Clark Avenue Remains Closed

News posted Sep. 11, 2018 - 6:00 am

Clark Avenue between West Peace Street and Clark Avenue/Bellwood Drive intersections will remain closed as the City works to replace the stormwater pipe. Construction is expected to start next week. The road should re-open by the end of November.
Please follow these detours until further notice:
Westbound traffic on W. Peace Street will be directed to Smallwood Drive to Cameron Street to Woodburn Road; and,
Eastbound traffic on Clark Avenue will be directed to Woodburn Road, Cameron Street, and Sutton Drive to Nichols Drive and St. Marys Street.
This pipe is about 70 years old and the condition of it has continued to decline following a series of heavy rain storms over the last few months. The goal of the project is to replace the 6-foot by 9-foot metal stormwater pipe that runs under Clark Avenue. This will significantly improve the stormwater system in this area.
