The City of Raleigh’s Stormwater Management Advisory Commission (SMAC) has a new chairperson and member.

Matthew Starr, the riverkeeper for the Upper Neuse River and active SMAC member, was elected chairperson for SMAC. Also, the Raleigh City Council recently appointed the commission’s newest member, Mark Senior. Mark is the City of Raleigh’s former interim stormwater manager, a position that he held for one year following more than 30 years of service to the City’s stormwater program.

SMAC is made up of 10 members who are dedicated to working with the City’s Stormwater Management Division to provide recommendations to the Raleigh City Council that protect public stormwater infrastructure, quality of life, the environment, and the property of Raleigh residents.
