Traffic Alert: 1800 Block of Benehan Street and 100-300 Blocks of Woodburn Road to Close for Water Line Installation

Beginning Monday, April 23, the City of Raleigh will close to through traffic the 1800 block of Benehan Street from Groveland Avenue to Woodburn Road and the 100-300 blocks of Woodburn Road from Clark Avenue to Hillsborough Street to install a new water line. This project is part of the Public Utilities Asset Management Program for Critical Waterlines within the City’s Capital Improvement Projects.

Weather permitting, the work will begin at 9 a.m., and is expected to last for four weeks. During this time motorists should expect travel delays and should avoid the area if possible. Motorists are advised to use Oberlin Road and Clark Avenue as alternative routes.

All businesses within this area will be open and accessible, however parking will be limited on Benehan Street as well as portions of Woodburn Road.

Customers in this area should not experience any interruption of water and sewer services. If service interruptions are necessary, residents will be notified in advance.
