In celebration of the 5th anniversary of the City of Raleigh’s Cardinal Bikeshare program, residents and visitors are invited to enjoy unlimited complimentary one-hour bike rides throughout the entire month of May.
Since its inception in 2019, the Cardinal Bikeshare program has facilitated over 435,700 miles of bike exploration across our city. In the first few months of 2024 alone, riders have already covered more than 8,000 miles! To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the City of Raleigh’s Cardinal Bikeshare program, we are thrilled to extend this special offer to current users, as well as those new to the program.
How Do I Ride Free?
To take advantage of this promotion, participants simply need to download the Cardinal Bikeshare App, create an account and input their payment information. Payment information is required for account setup. All rides lasting under one hour will be completely free of charge.
Should users encounter any difficulties in accessing this offer, our dedicated Cardinal Bikeshare Customer Service team is readily available to assist. Customer Service operating hours are Sunday through Wednesday from 8 AM – 7 PM EST and Thursday through Saturday from

Additionally, the Micromobility Program is currently conducting a survey regarding payment options for the Cardinal Bikeshare system. People interested in providing input on both current and future payment methods are encouraged to complete the anonymous Bikeshare Payment Options survey before May 17.
