Construction for this project is underway. The contractor, Browe Construction Company, is in the early stages of replacing the stormwater pipe, stabilizing the stream, and making improvements to sewer and water lines on West Drewry Lane. Work will include installing erosion and sediment control features (like fencing), clearing plants, and doing some demolition of the project area prior to completing work on the stormwater infrastructure. To complete this work, W. Drewry Lane will be closed during construction. Please follow the detour that is in place for this project.
For your safety, please do not enter the construction area. Work hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with no work scheduled on the weekend except in an emergency or with prior approval from the City.

The purpose of this project is to make improvements to the storm drainage system in this area by replacing the stormwater culvert on West Drewry Lane and stabilizing a nearby stream, which has experienced severe erosion. The 72-inch metal pipe will be replaced with a reinforced concrete box culvert. Upgrades also will be made to the sanitary sewer and water systems in the area.

In September 2012, a metal stormwater pipe at West Drewry Lane was severely bent and eroded due to heavy rainfall. This erosion resulted in unsafe conditions causing the closure of West Drewry Lane until emergency repairs were made. The emergency repairs were completed in 2013 and additional upgrades will be made to further improve the storm drainage system.
