The construction bid for this project was awarded to Browe Construction Company in October. Utility poles and power lines will be relocated along a section of West Drewry Lane to prepare for construction, which will start once private utility relocation is complete.

The purpose of this project is to make improvements to the storm drainage system by replacing the stormwater culvert on West Drewry Lane and to stabilize the stream in this area, which has experienced severe erosion. The 72-inch metal pipe will be replaced with a reinforced concrete box culvert. Upgrades also will be made to the sanitary sewer and water systems in the area.

In September 2012, a metal stormwater pipe embankment at West Drewry Lane was severely bent and eroded due to heavy rainfall. This erosion resulted in unsafe conditions causing the closure of West Drewry Lane until emergency repairs were made. The emergency repairs were completed in 2013 and additional upgrades will be made to further improve the storm drainage system.
