East Lane Street Drainage Improvements

Repairing Stormwater System

Phase I

We repaired and realigned the damaged private stormwater pipe that caused a sink hole at 513 East Lane Street. This work is intended to be a temporary solution to restore the stormwater system and make the properties in the area safe.

Phase II

The City is investigating a permanent solution for the neighborhood that may include extending pipes to redirect stormwater drainage.

Design

The design consultant will begin design for a permanent drainage solution on East Lane Street once investigations into drainage issues have been completed by the City.

Phase II Project Goals

Install drainage system in the City right-of-way on East Lane Street to improve overall drainage in the neighborhood. Drainage improvements may include extending pipes in the right -of-way towards Linden Avenue.

Construction

Phase I

Construction for the pipe and sink hole repair was completed in October 2023. The work included removing the damaged storm pipe, replacing it with new pipe in the area of the sink hole, and adding fill material to stabilize the sink hole.

Phase II

Construction for Phase II is expected to begin early 2026.
